Haiti President congratulates tennis star, Naomi Osaka
President of Haiti, His Excellency Jovenel Moise, has extended congratulations to Naomi Osaka on her victory at the Australian Open Tennis Tournament on Saturday 26 January, 2019. Osaka, 21, is Japanese of Haitian descent.

Osaka, who is also the reigning US Open Champion, beat Petra Kvivota in the match in Melbourne.

In a tweet on Monday, President Moise said “Haiti is proud of you, Naomi”. He added that everyone “congratulates you on this feat”.
Winning the Australian Open, her second consecutive Grand Slam title, catapulted her to the top of the official world rankings.
