Hurricane season becoming more active
Weather forecasters are urging the people of the Region to keep an eye on a chain of weather systems churning their way across the Atlantic.
Tropical Storm Florence
Florence was on Sunday morning located at 24.5 North, 55.8 West, and moving toward the West at six miles and hour. It is expected to become a hurricane Sunday and to become a major hurricane by Monday. On the forecast track, the centre of Florence will pass between Bermuda and The Bahamas either Tuesday or Wednesday.
Tropical Storm Isaac
Isaac is currently located about 1540 miles east of the Windward Islands and moving towards the West at about nine miles an hour. Strengthening is forecast for the next few days and Isaac is expected to become a hurricane by Monday. There are no watches and warnings in effect as yet.
Tropical Storm Helene
Tropical Storm Helene was Sunday morning located near 13.2 North and 24.5 West. It poses no immediate threat to the Caribbean.
