Secretary-General of World Customs Organisation attends COTED
The Secretary-General of the World Customs Organisation, Dr. Kunio Mikuriya, attended the Forty-Seventh Meeting of the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) in Guyana.
The two-day Meeting is underway at the Georgetown Marriott Hotel.
CARICOM Secretary-General, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque and Dr. Mikuriya earlier this year signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance the professionalism and effectiveness of CARICOM Customs administrations through technical assistance and capacity-building.
“Secretary-General, your participation in this Meeting is certainly an indication that we have begun to implement the MOU”, Amb. LaRocque said as he welcomed the WCO Secretary-General.
