Heavy rain from Tropical Storm Gonzalo approaching Tobago, Grenada


Tropical Storm Gonzalo is expected to bring heavy rain and gusty winds to Tobago and Grenada on Saturday. Meanwhile the Tropical Storm warning for Barbados and St. Vincent and the Grenadines has been lifted.

On Saturday morning Gonzalo was located about 100 miles (165 km) East of Trinidad, moving towards the West at 18 miles an hour and packing maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 25 miles  from the centre.

On its current path and speed Gonzalo is expected to pass through the islands by Saturday afternoon or evening.

Meanwhile a Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for:
* Tobago
* Grenada and its dependencies

A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm conditions are
expected somewhere within the warning area, in this case
within the next 24 hours.
