Dominica Recovers: Government evacuates hardest hit community

The Petite Savanne Community was declared a Special Disaster Area by Prime Minister Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit, following the passage of Tropical Storm Erika. In this regard, Government, on the advice of the Disaster Management Coordinator, took the decision to evacuate all residents of Petite Savanne.
The evacuation started on Sunday with official reports showing 25 males, 38 females and 46 children removed from the village, and it is scheduled to continue today.
